Two Suspects Injured in Noida Police Encounter Following Murder Case

Noida, May 19: In a significant operation, Noida police apprehended two suspects involved in the murder of a young man named Deepak. The encounter occurred in the Sector 63 area, where both suspects were injured due to police return fire. Additionally, two minor accomplices were taken into custody during a combing operation.

Authorities recovered illegal firearms, cartridges, knives, and two motorcycles from the suspects. The incident traces back to May 17, 2026, when 20-year-old Deepak, a resident of Chotpur Colony, was attacked with a knife over a financial dispute. He was admitted to the hospital in critical condition, where he later succumbed to his injuries.

Following the incident, a case was registered at the Sector 63 police station, and charges were upgraded after Deepak’s death. On Sunday night, police conducted checks on the Green Belt Service Road near the Bahloolpur underpass, where they spotted four young men on two motorcycles. When signaled to stop, the suspects attempted to flee, prompting police to pursue them.

According to police reports, the suspects opened fire on the police team, who retaliated in self-defense, resulting in injuries to two of the suspects.

The injured suspects have been identified as Aman, son of Veer Singh, and Sandeep Kumar, son of Sanjay Singh, both residents of Bulandshahr but currently renting in Chotpur Colony. They have been hospitalized for treatment. The other two suspects, identified as minors, were apprehended during the operation.

Police seized three illegal firearms, two spent cartridges, four live cartridges, a knife, and the two motorcycles used in the incident. Authorities are continuing their investigation and gathering information about the suspects’ criminal backgrounds.
