Srinagar, August 11 – Two police officers lost their lives and another was injured in an accident on the Jammu–Srinagar National Highway, officials said on Monday.
According to police, the three officers were returning from Amarnath Yatra duty in Srinagar to Jammu when their vehicle met with an accident at Tengan in the Lasjan area of the city.
The injured officers were rushed to a nearby hospital, where two of them — identified as Sachin Verma and Shubham — were declared dead. The injured officer, Mastan Singh, is undergoing treatment.
Police have registered a case and initiated further investigation into the incident.
