Two Arrested for Fraudulent Construction of Eight-Story Building in Vasai-Virar
Authorities arrest two men for building an illegal eight-story structure using fake documents, defrauding flat buyers in Vasai-Virar.

Vasai-Virar, October 21 (Daily Kiran) : Authorities in Vasai-Virar have arrested two men for allegedly constructing an illegal eight-story building using fake documents, defrauding prospective flat buyers. The building, named ‘Dhruvi Heights-2’, is located in Narangi village, Virar East, and includes 113 flats that were sold under questionable circumstances.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Kamlesh Mahadev Patil (40) and Vishal Vinayak Patil (38) from VV Construction. Police are investigating the use of forged construction permits and certificates of commencement (CC) in the case.
On October 19, a complaint was lodged by Mukesh Shivsagar Upadhyay, a resident of Jay Sairaj Society in Nalasopara East. He alleged that Kamlesh Mahadev Patil had used fraudulent documents to illegally construct the eight-story building on a plot of land in Narangi village.
The complaint also indicated that the flats were registered using fake CCs, resulting in financial fraud against multiple buyers. Following the investigation by Crime Branch Unit-2, which included data from the Vasai-Virar Municipal Corporation, the involvement of Vishal Vinayak Patil was uncovered.
The police registered a case at the Virar police station under various sections of the law. They claim that the two men colluded to build ‘Dhruvi Heights-2’ based on fraudulent permits. The sale of the 113 flats and the registration of documents at Sub-Registrar Office No. 6 are under scrutiny for alleged misconduct.
Authorities have stated that the sale of these flats as legitimate has led to fraud against both buyers and the government. Investigations are now focused on identifying any additional individuals involved and understanding how the fake documents were created.
The police are holding both suspects in custody until October 29 to identify other accomplices in this scheme. They have also urged any citizens who purchased flats in ‘Dhruvi Heights-2’ and believe they were defrauded to come forward and file complaints with the investigating officer to aid in the investigation.
This operation was conducted under the guidance of Police Commissioner Niket Kaushik and Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime) Sandeep Doifode, led by Senior Inspector Nitin Patil of Crime Branch Unit-2, Vasai. The investigation continues to uncover further details about the fraudulent construction and the roles of other potential suspects.
