
Mumbai, April 22: Deepika Chikhaliya, who portrayed Sita in Ramanand Sagar’s iconic “Ramayan,” continues to hold a special place in the hearts of viewers. The actress is currently in Prayagraj, participating in a pilgrimage. During her visit, she introduced fans to a significant location where Sita bestowed a boon upon a tree.
Chikhaliya visited a legendary and immortal banyan tree located at the Sangam banks in Prayagraj, a site steeped in Ramayana history. She shared that this tree and its surroundings are linked to many ancient tales, with a profound connection to Lord Rama and Sita.
The actress revealed that Lord Rama, Sita, and Lakshman rested at this site during their exile. Additionally, there is another immortal banyan tree in Kurukshetra, which is considered a witness to the teachings of the Gita. The tree in Prayagraj, blessed by Sita, remains lush and vibrant even after centuries.
Under this sacred banyan tree, Chikhaliya showcased idols of Lord Rama, Sita, and Lakshman, attracting numerous devotees. She clarified that Brahma performed several yagnas at this site, and the kund (sacred water tank) used for these rituals still exists beneath the tree. Locals believe this banyan tree is a wish-fulfilling tree, and those who come here to make wishes often find them fulfilled. Visitors to Prayagraj are encouraged to seek blessings at this holy site.
Meanwhile, the actress remains active in the television and OTT space. She has recently launched a new micro-drama show titled “Aunty, Please Speak English,” which has received positive feedback. Previously, she appeared in “Badi Haveli Ki Choti Thakurain” and “Dharatiputra Nandini.”
