Trump Postpones Beijing Trip Amid Ongoing Conflict with Iran

Washington, March 17: President Donald Trump announced that the war related to Iran may soon come to an end. He also revealed that he has postponed his planned trip to China due to the current situation, emphasizing the need to remain in Washington at this time.

During a press briefing in the Oval Office, when asked if the conflict could conclude this week, Trump stated that it is not guaranteed, but it will not last much longer. He believes that once the war ends, the world will be safer than before.

Trump mentioned that he has requested to delay his trip to China by about a month. He expressed a desire to engage in discussions with China but feels it is crucial to stay in the U.S. given the current circumstances. As a result, he has proposed rescheduling his visit for approximately a month later.

The trip was originally set for March 28 to April 1, but no new dates have been announced yet.

Trump expressed eagerness to visit China and noted that relations between the two countries are good. However, he stressed that it is more important for him to remain in the U.S. during the ongoing conflict. He clarified that there is no specific strategy behind this decision; it is simply necessary for him to be in Washington while the war is ongoing.

These comments came as Trump signed a memorandum related to domestic fraud in the Oval Office. Following this, most questions from reporters focused on Iran and the ongoing military operations.

Defending the military action, Trump stated that it was essential to take this step, even though he personally wished to avoid war. He acknowledged that he had to make this decision, which he did not want to take.

He emphasized that this action was not only for the U.S. but for the benefit of the entire world. According to him, it was undertaken to enhance global security.

In a broader context, he remarked, “We acted for the world, not just for ourselves. If we had not taken action, the consequences would have been far more severe. Had I not done what I did, we would have been attacked.”

Trump claimed that Iran’s military capacity has significantly weakened as a result of the conflict. He noted that Iran no longer has an effective navy, air force, or defenses against aerial attacks, and its leadership has also been compromised.

He expressed hope that this situation would impact the stock market. However, he stated that if there is a temporary effect, it is not a significant price to pay.

He added that he initially thought the stock market might drop more significantly, but that did not happen. According to him, even if there is some loss, it is a minor cost.

When asked about future military plans and whether there might be a need to deploy ground troops, Trump declined to comment.
