New Delhi, 1 January. US President Donald Trump celebrated the New Year at his Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida, warmly welcoming 2026 with a grand party. The event was attended by notable guests including Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, US Ambassador to India Sergio Gor, businessman Phil Ruffin, Donald Trump Jr., Rudy Giuliani, Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem, Eric and Lara Trump, Emirati billionaire Hussain Sajwani, and White House Deputy Chief of Staff Dan Scavino.
Addressing the guests, Trump was asked about his New Year’s resolution. He replied simply, “Peace. Peace on Earth.” However, he did not respond to questions regarding the CIA’s role in attacks on Venezuela or sending troops to Ukraine.
President Trump and First Lady Melania Trump welcomed guests on a black carpet inscribed with golden letters saying “Happy New Year Mar-a-Lago.”
Trump expressed optimism about the country’s progress, saying, “I just want to tell you that the country is really doing very well and more investment is coming into America than any other country in the history of the world.”
Highlighting tariff revenues, he added, “America has collected hundreds of millions of dollars, and we gave the entire army $1,776. That’s not bad. We are very happy that as a country we are doing very well. We are back. We are strong. I did not think this could happen so fast. It’s happening faster than anyone thought.”
He also referred to a large-scale economic irregularity, stating, “Officials have discovered losses amounting to billions of dollars. Can you imagine, $18 billion was stolen? This is just what we have found so far. The investigation will continue. It was a huge scam. It’s all coming back. This is part of the Green New Year effort.”
During the event, Trump invited artist Vanessa Horabuena on stage, calling her one of the world’s greatest artists. The band played a Christian hymn as Horabuena danced and painted an image of Jesus on a canvas.
After the painting was completed, Trump auctioned it off, announcing that the proceeds would benefit St. Jude and the Sheriff’s Department. The bidding started at $100,000, with Trump offering to sign the painting to increase its value. The painting was eventually sold for $2.75 million.
