Trump Criticizes Zelensky, Calls for New Negotiators in Ukraine Conflict
Trump claims if Zelensky had listened to him, many lives could have been saved in Ukraine, urging for new negotiators in the peace talks.

Washington, October 20 (Daily Kiran) : Former President Donald Trump expressed that if Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky had heeded his advice, many lives could have been saved during the ongoing conflict. In a recent statement, Trump suggested that Zelensky had missed opportunities for a better deal long ago and implied that the Ukrainian leader is not interested in ending the war.
Trump’s comments were shared via a video clip from the Trump administration’s official social media account, Rapid Response 47. In the clip, he stated, “Zelensky is someone who should have ended this war a long time ago. If he had listened to me, he could have reached a better agreement much earlier, saving millions of lives. I think it’s time for someone else to step forward to negotiate on Ukraine’s behalf.”
He further emphasized his support for halting the conflict between Russia and Ukraine, noting that Zelensky is not effectively improving the situation. “I just want to see people stop dying,” Trump added.
Just a day prior, Trump mentioned that his administration was making progress in negotiations to end the war. He warned that imposing new economic pressures on Russia could lead to it walking away from the negotiating table.
On his social media platform, Truth Social, Trump wrote, “I am working to establish peace in the Russia-Ukraine war and do not want to take any steps that would unnecessarily push Russia away from negotiations.”
In contrast, President Zelensky has repeatedly urged the United States to increase pressure on Russia amid ongoing attacks in Ukraine. He has stressed that saving lives is paramount and that Ukraine needs continued support.
Zelensky stated, “We appeal to the U.S. to show strength and implement the proposed legislation by Lindsey Graham. We also request continued support from Europe.” He insisted that as long as Russia continues its reckless and destructive war, profit-making should not be considered. He called for sanctions against Russia to remain in place until the violence stops.
