Trump Asserts U.S. Control Over Strait of Hormuz Until Iran Reaches Agreement

Washington, April 24: President Donald Trump has stated that the United States will maintain its dominance over the Strait of Hormuz until Iran agrees to a deal. He emphasized that this crucial oil route is being used as leverage.

Trump remarked, “We have complete control over this route. It will only open when they reach an agreement or a positive situation arises.”

He clarified that keeping this route closed aims to exert pressure on Iran’s economy. Trump noted, “If we open this route, Iran could earn about $500 million daily. Until this matter is resolved, I do not want them to make that much money.”

The Strait of Hormuz is a narrow maritime passage that connects oil-producing countries in the Gulf to global markets. Any disruption in this area can lead to fluctuations in oil prices and heightened supply concerns.

Trump acknowledged that this situation could impact the general public. When asked about fuel prices, he stated, “There will be a temporary effect.”

However, he also mentioned that the market remains stable. Trump added, “The stock market is at its highest level. I thought oil prices could reach $200 per barrel, but that hasn’t happened, and prices are quite different from expectations.”

The administration indicated that increased domestic production has helped stabilize the situation. Trump explained, “We are currently producing the most oil and gas in our history.”

He further stated, “As long as this route remains closed, ships from around the world are coming to Texas, Louisiana, and Alaska to take oil from the U.S.”

Trump linked this entire pressure strategy to security, asserting, “We cannot allow them to have nuclear weapons.”

He also hinted that a resolution to this issue may not come soon. Trump remarked, “I am in no rush; we have plenty of time.” This indicates that pressure on Iran will continue due to the limited flow of oil.
