Trump Anticipates Message from Iran Amid Ongoing Tensions

Washington, May 9: Amid escalating tensions between the United States and Iran, President Donald Trump expressed optimism about receiving a message from Tehran tonight. Questions remain regarding the pace of nuclear negotiations between the two nations. He also indicated that a limited ceasefire between Russia and Ukraine might be extended.

Before boarding Marine One on the South Lawn of the White House, Trump told reporters, “I expect to receive a letter tonight. Let’s see what happens.”

When asked if Tehran was deliberately slowing the process, he replied, “We’ll find out soon.”

The President suggested that if negotiations falter, Washington may adopt a tougher stance. He stated, “If everything doesn’t go well, we will take another route. If things don’t happen, we could revert to Project Freedom, but it would be Project Freedom Plus. This means there would be additional elements.”

Trump described the war in Ukraine as one of the worst events since World War II and expressed support for extending the current limited ceasefire. When questioned about the possibility of the truce lasting more than three days, he said, “It might. That would be good. I would like to see it stop.”

He also highlighted strong domestic economic indicators, noting, “Today, we have more people working in this country than ever before. Job numbers are tremendous.”

On public health issues, Trump addressed concerns regarding Hantavirus cases, assuring that officials are closely monitoring the situation. He remarked, “It seems we have largely controlled things. They know that virus very well. It has been around for a long time. Unlike COVID, it doesn’t spread easily. We are studying it very closely.”

When asked about reports related to Dr. Marty Makary, Trump stated, “I’m reading about it, but I don’t know much.”

Regarding international events, Trump mentioned a productive meeting with Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva but did not provide further details. When questioned about political developments in the United Kingdom, he refrained from commenting in detail, saying, “I leave that to them, but I am happy with everything.”
