Hyderabad, April 16 : Ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) will celebrate the party’s foundation day at HICC here on April 27. This was decided by TRS President and Chief Minister K.Chandrashekar Rao here on Saturday. With a single agenda of creating a separate Telangana state with Hyderabad as its capital, the party was founded on April 27, 2001 by Rao. It has been instrumental in carrying forth a sustained agitation for the granting of statehood to Telangana. In the 2014 Assembly Election held in Telangana, the party had won a majority of seats and formed the first government in the state with Chandrashekar Rao as its Chief Minister. The party’s foundation is likely to be a low-key affair this time as the leaders may go for simple flag hoisting on the occasion. For the last two years, the foundation day celebrations of the party were a muted affair across the state due to Covid-19 pandemic. After hoisting the party flag at around 1100 hours, the TRS President will address party representatives and 11 resolutions will be passed after discussing the current political situation in the state and the country, during the day-long meeting, which will end at around 1700 hours.
