Health dept. on alert mode in view of heat wave: Mangal

Patna, Apr 16 ( ) Bihar Health Minister Mangal Pandey said on Saturday that the health department was on alert mode in view of the sweeping heat wave conditions in the state and the medical experts would remain 24 hours available on call in the government hospitals and medical colleges . The health minister said that the people may face serious health issues due to the prevailing heat wave condition and keeping this in mind dedicated wards were being set up in all government hospitals across the state. He said that the medicines required in such situation were also being arranged in adequate quantity. Pandey said that all civil surgeons have been directed to ensure 24 hours presence of doctors and paramedical staff in the government hospitals under their jurisdiction. Apart from this the Civil surgeons have also been instructed to ensure the medical equipments remain functional in the hospitals. He said that the medical experts would be available on call to handle any emergency situation. The health minister said that the department was working in tandem with the disaster management ts to sensitise people for taking precautionary measures to safeguard themselves from the heat wave conditions .
