New Delhi, May 21: The ‘Tribal Cultural Festival’ will be held on May 24 in New Delhi, organized by the Tribal Security Forum and the Tribal Awareness Committee. People from various tribal communities across the country will participate in this event to raise awareness about their cultures.
Narendra Bhatia, in a conversation with a news agency, stated that attendees are coming at their own expense, with no financial support from any organization. The goal is to showcase the rich cultures and traditions of India’s diverse tribal communities. A procession will highlight these cultures and traditions in Delhi, with many local tribal groups actively participating and contributing to the event’s success.
Bhatia emphasized that this festival will educate our tribal brothers and sisters, especially the younger generation, about their culture, civilization, folk dances, songs, and religious practices. It aims to raise awareness to prevent migration from remote areas. The main objective is for the youth to learn about their history and rich heritage.
He noted the importance of creating awareness within the tribal society. Some community members have never traveled by train, and this event will provide them with that opportunity. Upon arriving in Delhi, the capital of the world’s largest democracy, they will experience the stark contrast between their world and that of the city, fostering a direct experience of unity in diversity. Each tribal group has its unique characteristics.
Bhatia mentioned that participants will have the chance to observe, learn, and appreciate each other’s distinct traits. When they return to their regions, they will do so with a commitment to thrive where they are and to ensure that future generations preserve their heritage, traditions, and culture. They will be encouraged not to succumb to minor temptations and to avoid migration.
He expressed confidence that the event will be highly successful, featuring prominent figures from various fields, especially award-winning individuals from the tribal community in education, literature, music, and art. Attendees will benefit from their insights and return with renewed resolve, providing the tribal community with new direction and purpose.
