Jyotiraditya Scindia highlights the evolving role of post offices in India, emphasizing their transformation into modern service centers.

Guna, September 18 (Daily Kiran) : Union Minister for Communications and Northeast Development, Jyotiraditya Scindia, emphasized the evolving role of post offices in modern India during a recent event in Guna. He stated that post offices are no longer just postal delivery points but are rapidly transforming into centers for public service. “The changing post office reflects the new image of a changing India,” he noted.
Scindia inaugurated revamped services at the Guna Head Post Office, which align with the theme of connecting citizens to essential services. He highlighted that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, India is undergoing significant transformations, and the postal system is adapting accordingly.
Once known for delivering letters, the postal service now offers a range of digital and financial services, including passports, Aadhaar registration, parcels, insurance, and banking. This transformation is evident at the Guna Head Post Office, which has been redesigned to meet modern needs.
The minister pointed out that the new look of the Guna post office is not merely aesthetic but symbolizes the evolving postal system. He stated, “Our goal is to provide citizens with a better environment, modern amenities, and efficient services all in one place.”
Scindia also remarked that the postal department has become a vital component of Digital India. Thanks to advancements in digital technology, citizens no longer need to visit post offices repeatedly for various services. With digital platforms like ‘Postal Service’ and ‘Postal Friends,’ many services can now be accessed from home.
He reassured that this transformation extends beyond urban areas, aiming to deliver quality postal and financial services to citizens in the most remote corners of the country. The focus is on modernizing post offices, digitizing services, and saving citizens’ time, which is the direction of the new postal system in India.
