
Gwalior, August 18: A devastating road accident occurred in Bhind district, Madhya Pradesh. A pickup truck carrying laborers collided head-on with a dumper near Chhimka village. This tragic incident resulted in the deaths of eight individuals, while over 20 others sustained injuries.
According to reports, the accident took place on the Gwalior-Bhind road, close to the Gohad intersection. All the laborers in the pickup were returning home after work in Gwalior when the speeding dumper crashed into them. The impact was so severe that the pickup was completely mangled. Police officials arrived at the scene shortly after receiving news of the accident.
One injured laborer recounted, “We were coming from Gwalior in Madhya Pradesh and heading home when a truck hit our vehicle, causing this accident.” The scene erupted in chaos as bystanders immediately alerted the police and ambulance services.
Dr. Devendra Sharma, the casualty in-charge at the trauma center of JAH, stated, “This incident occurred today near Chhimka village in Bhind district, close to the Gohad intersection. The laborers were traveling in a pickup truck when they collided with an oncoming dumper.”
Dr. Sharma further explained that following the accident, all the injured were initially taken to the Community Health Center (CHC). After receiving primary treatment, more than two dozen seriously injured individuals were referred to Jayarogya Hospital in Gwalior. Reports indicate that five people died at the scene, while three others succumbed to their injuries en route. The remaining injured are currently receiving treatment. The deceased have been sent for post-mortem, which will be conducted after their families arrive.
