Jaipur, May 20: A heartbreaking incident has emerged from Bhivadi, Rajasthan, where a mother allegedly forced her eight-month-old daughter to drink acid. The baby succumbed to her injuries while receiving treatment in Alwar.
According to the father’s complaint, the incident stemmed from a dispute regarding the mother’s desire to return to her parental home.
The tragedy unfolded in the Labor Colony area of Bhivadi, where the mother reportedly administered the acid after a heated argument.
The father, Mohit, who works as a marketing executive at a solar company in Bhivadi, claimed that his wife, Sapna, insisted on visiting her family, which he had opposed. Following their argument, she allegedly coerced the baby to ingest the acid while they were alone at their rented home.
Mohit stated that his sister, who lives nearby, alerted him after noticing the child’s deteriorating condition. The baby was initially taken to Bhivadi District Hospital and later referred to Alwar for advanced treatment.
Mohit further alleged that during the transfer from Bhivadi to Alwar, his wife confessed to administering the acid. Tragically, two days later, on Wednesday, the baby passed away during treatment.
Demanding strict action against his wife, Mohit expressed his grief, saying, “She was my only daughter.”
Dr. Charu Garg, a professor at Alwar Medical College, reported that the baby was admitted in critical condition on May 18 at around 7:30 PM. The acid had severely damaged several internal organs, including the trachea and esophagus, leading to continuous internal bleeding. Despite the doctors’ efforts, they were unable to save the child. The police have initiated an investigation into the case.
