Tragic Incident in Mumbai: Wedding Guests Fall into Deep Pit, One Dead

Mumbai, April 24: A tragic incident occurred late Thursday night in the Bhandup (West) area of Mumbai, causing chaos in the locality. The accident took place near a construction site close to Metro Mall and Janata Market, where several individuals fell into a deep pit.

According to reports, the incident happened around 11:29 PM. It is believed that some guests attending a wedding at Matoshree Marriage Hall fell into the pit at the nearby construction site. Upon receiving news of the accident, the fire brigade, police, 108 ambulance services, and ward staff quickly arrived at the scene. Rescue operations commenced immediately, and all injured individuals were rushed to nearby hospitals for prompt medical attention.

A total of 11 people were injured in this incident, with one person confirmed dead. The deceased has been identified as Bhalchandra Phalle, 25, who was pronounced dead at Fortis Hospital. Two others remain hospitalized but are reported to be in stable condition. The remaining eight individuals were discharged after receiving first aid.

Among the injured are Shreyas Surve, Aniket Kadam, Jaydeep Shah, Sanket Juvatkar, Aditya Aaher, Aniket Mahesh Patil, Ankit Kumar Rohit, Jaywant Farasane, Raman Yadav, and Harishankar Karwa, who were treated at various hospitals. Bhalchandra Phalle succumbed to his injuries during treatment. Apart from Shreyas Surve and Harishankar Karwa, all others have been discharged. They are currently receiving care at Criticare Hospital and Agarwal Hospital, where doctors have stated their conditions are stable.

The police are currently investigating the matter to determine how such a significant oversight occurred. There is considerable anger among local residents regarding this incident.
