The exact number of fatalities is still being confirmed, and investigations are underway to determine the cause of the fire. Preliminary reports suggest that a short circuit may have triggered the blaze.
According to reports from The Hindu, the fire in the ICU led to the deaths of ten patients, with five others suffering severe burns. Some patients were relocated to a new building within the hospital premises for their safety. Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Manjhi visited the hospital to assess the situation.
