Ghazipur, October 10 (Daily Kiran) : A tragic incident unfolded in Ghazipur on Saturday morning when a student lost his life due to electrocution at a private school in the Jangipur police station area. The victim has been identified as Utkarsh Gupta.
Reports indicate that Utkarsh had arrived at the school to take an examination. At the time, the school was open, and several children were playing in the vicinity. During this period, Utkarsh came into contact with an exposed electric wire, resulting in severe burns. The school management rushed him to a medical college, where he was pronounced dead upon arrival.
Utkarsh’s uncle, Deepak Gupta, alleged that the area around the school is plagued by monkeys. To deter these animals, the school had installed electric wires just two to three feet above the ground. While playing, Utkarsh inadvertently touched the wire. Following the incident, Deepak claimed that the school administration failed to inform the family about the tragedy.
Deepak learned of the incident through other means and rushed to the school, only to find that his nephew was missing. He later went to the district hospital, where he received the heartbreaking news of Utkarsh’s death.
The family is devastated by the loss of their young son. Reports suggest that Utkarsh’s father is in a state of shock and unable to communicate.
District Magistrate Anupam Shukla has acknowledged the incident and stated that an investigation is underway. He assured that any individuals found responsible will face punitive action.
This heartbreaking event has raised serious questions about the safety of children in school environments and the adequacy of electrical installations. Attention now turns to the administrative inquiry to understand why such wiring was permitted and why the family was not promptly notified following the incident.
