New Delhi, April 27: A devastating accident occurred early Monday morning in Narmadapuram, Madhya Pradesh, involving a high-speed SUV and a tractor-trolley. At least five individuals lost their lives, and several others sustained serious injuries.
The incident took place late at night near the Achal Kheda village in the Makhan Nagar police jurisdiction. The victims were returning from a wedding ceremony in Budhni when a speeding Tavera vehicle collided with the tractor-trolley from behind. The impact was so severe that the vehicle was completely wrecked, resulting in the immediate deaths of all five occupants. Reports indicate that the deceased were residents of Mahendrawadi in the Makhan Nagar area.
The scene was chaotic, with screams echoing as passersby alerted the police. Emergency services quickly arrived on the scene. The bodies were sent for post-mortem, and the injured were admitted for treatment.
A local hospital doctor confirmed that four individuals had already succumbed to their injuries upon arrival. Approximately seven to eight injured people were brought to the hospital around 2 AM. The treatment for the injured is ongoing, with some suffering from critical injuries. A few have been transferred to other hospitals for further care.
An ambulance driver reported that they received notification of the accident late at night and promptly reached the site with multiple ambulances. He noted that the vehicle collided with a tractor-trolley loaded with wheat. All injured individuals were transported to the hospital immediately. One person died at a different hospital, while four others passed away en route to the district hospital, bringing the total death toll to five.
A young man who was returning from the wedding on a motorcycle mentioned that there were 9-10 people in the vehicle involved in the accident. Tragically, the driver was among those who lost their lives.
In a separate incident in Dewas, an unidentified vehicle struck three motorcyclists at Jawai Khedi mode, resulting in two fatalities and one teenager injured. The injured individual was initially treated at the district hospital and later referred to Indore. Reports suggest that the motorcyclists were visiting a relative who had been injured and met with the accident on their way back.
