
Chhindwara, March 27: A devastating accident occurred in Chhindwara district of Madhya Pradesh, resulting in the death of 10 individuals. The incident involved a bus returning from a beneficiary conference led by Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, which collided with a truck. Over 20 others sustained injuries.
The beneficiary conference took place in the Mohkhed area, where attendees were returning home when the bus crashed into the truck in the Umranala region.
Chief Minister Mohan Yadav expressed his sorrow over the tragedy and assured all possible assistance. He stated on X, “The road accident on Chhindwara-Nagpur Road this evening is heart-wrenching. My condolences to the affected families. I pray for the peace of the souls of the departed. I wish for the speedy recovery of the injured. I have instructed the relevant authorities to ensure proper arrangements for the treatment of the injured. Teams of doctors from Jabalpur have been directed to Chhindwara and Nagpur. I have also instructed the minister in charge of Chhindwara, Rakesh Singh, to change his schedule and reach Chhindwara.”
The Chief Minister announced a compensation of ₹4 lakh for the families of the deceased and ₹1 lakh for those seriously injured. All medical treatment for the injured will be provided free of charge. A control room has been established in Bhopal’s health department to continuously monitor the treatment of all injured individuals.
Emergency services responded quickly, with multiple ambulances arriving at the scene to commence rescue operations. The injured were transported to hospitals for treatment. Among the deceased are six men, three women, and one child.
The bus was carrying a total of 41 passengers, with 10 confirmed dead and 20 seriously injured. The injured have been sent to the district hospital for medical care.
