Tragic Bus Accident in Karol Bagh Claims Two Lives

New Delhi, March 25: A severe bus accident occurred late Wednesday night in the Karol Bagh area of Delhi. A bus carrying approximately 25 passengers overturned near the Jhandewalan Metro Station. Tragically, two individuals lost their lives, and several others sustained injuries. The injured have been admitted to various hospitals.

According to eyewitnesses, the incident took place around 1:30 AM. The bus was reportedly traveling at a high speed, estimated between 80 to 100 km/h. After losing control, the bus flipped over multiple times, leaving bystanders shocked as the accident happened so suddenly that no one had time to react.

One eyewitness recounted the chaos that ensued after the bus overturned, with screams echoing around. Many passengers, including women and young children, were trapped inside. A small child was wedged between the seats, and a woman was also severely stuck. Those present at the scene quickly sprang into action, with about 100-150 people working together to stabilize the bus and rescue the injured.

Local residents reported that it took approximately half an hour to an hour to extract all passengers. Many were covered in blood and in considerable pain. Some witnesses noted that around 8 to 10 individuals were critically injured. One person mentioned that they personally rescued a small girl, while it took significant effort to free a 5 to 6-year-old boy.

Upon receiving news of the incident, police, PCR vans, and fire brigade teams rushed to the scene. The injured were promptly transported to hospitals, with many taken to Ram Manohar Lohia (RML) Hospital.

Initial investigations suggest driver negligence may have been a factor. Some witnesses speculated that the driver might have dozed off, leading to the bus losing control. The police are currently investigating the incident to determine the exact causes.
