Lucknow, March 29: In the lead-up to the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, Congress spokesperson Surendra Rajput has targeted the NDA, asserting that its leaders are dreaming of forming a government in the state. However, he emphasized that MK Stalin is poised to become Chief Minister once again.
Rajput stated to a news agency, “Our alliance is completely united, and we are contesting the elections alongside our partners. We are fighting under the leadership of the current Chief Minister, MK Stalin. We are confident that the Indy alliance will perform well.”
Criticizing the BJP, Rajput claimed that the BJP-AIADMK coalition in Tamil Nadu is destined for defeat. He accused them of attempting to mislead the public by concocting new conspiracies. “The people of Tamil Nadu will not be swayed by these tactics. They are aware of the current state of the country and what could happen if the NDA forms a government here,” he added.
Rajput praised MK Stalin for his significant contributions to Tamil Nadu’s development, stating that no one has achieved as much. Recently, Stalin invited foreign professionals to work in Tamil Nadu, which he believes will accelerate the state’s growth and create more job opportunities for locals. “MK Stalin always works for the public’s interest, which is why he is set to return to power,” Rajput remarked.
He noted that Stalin has efficiently addressed public issues during his tenure, leading the populace to favor the DMK-led alliance for another term.
It is important to mention that the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections will take place in a single phase on April 23, with results expected on May 4. The state has a total of 234 assembly seats and approximately 5.6 crore voters, including around 2.7 crore male voters and 2.8 crore female voters. Additionally, there are 7,617 third-gender voters who will participate in this election.
Rajput also commented on the situation in Nepal, urging the Ministry of External Affairs to closely monitor developments there. “Nepal is our neighboring country, and we share deep cultural and historical ties with it. The Indian government should not isolate Nepal,” he stated.
