
Gondia, July 15: A heartbreaking incident occurred in Dasgaon, Gondia district, Maharashtra. A three-year-old girl tragically lost her life after being struck by a speeding Bolero while accompanying her father to the weekly market on Tuesday. The driver of the vehicle fled the scene following the accident. Family members expressed their outrage, claiming that the police did not apprehend the suspect or seize the vehicle until late at night. This led to local villagers taking to the streets in protest.
According to reports, Lakshmichand Sevaiwar, a resident of Balmatola, had brought his daughter, Kumari Pasi, to the market. During their visit, an unidentified Bolero came speeding and hit the young girl before speeding away towards Kati Marg. Despite immediate assistance from her father and local villagers, the severely injured child was pronounced dead upon arrival at the Dasgaon primary health center. Following the incident, the family filed a complaint against the unknown driver at the Rawanwadi police station.
In a display of grief and anger, the father carried his daughter’s body back to the accident site and sat on the road, pleading for justice. He chanted slogans like “Police Haye Haye” (Shame on the Police). Former district council member Narendra Turkar joined the grieving family and villagers in their protest, which lasted from 9 PM until 3 AM.
In another tragic incident in Ratnagiri district, three people, including two women, died when a car collided with a dumper. Two others were seriously injured and have been admitted to the Lanja rural hospital. The accident occurred on the Mumbai-Goa highway near Lanja, where members of a family from Agripada, Mumbai, were returning from a trip to Goa. Their vehicle was struck from behind by a stationary dumper, resulting in a catastrophic crash that severely damaged their Creta car.
