NDA Leaders Criticize Azam Khans Remarks Amid Ongoing Legal Troubles

NDA leaders respond sharply to Azam Khans claims of discrimination following his recent arrest and release on bail.

Lucknow, November 1 (Daily Kiran) : Senior Samajwadi Party leader Azam Khan is back in the news following a recent ruling by the Allahabad High Court. The court granted him and his son, Abdullah Azam Khan, bail in a fake PAN card case from 2019. He was released from Rampur jail, but his freedom was short-lived. Just minutes later, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) re-arrested him in connection with a money laundering case.

In response to his arrest, Azam Khan claimed he is facing discrimination due to his Muslim identity and suggested he is being punished for his efforts to establish a university. Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav labeled these actions a conspiracy against Khan.

NDA leaders reacted strongly to Khan’s statements. Bhupendra Chaudhary, a minister in the Uttar Pradesh government, emphasized the importance of the constitutional framework in the country. He reassured that the judiciary is to be trusted and that all government actions will be based on judicial orders. He stated, “If someone has done nothing wrong, they have nothing to fear. However, those who have engaged in unethical or illegal activities will face legal consequences.”

Asim Arun, another Uttar Pradesh minister, echoed these sentiments while commenting on Khan’s arrest. He accused Khan of amassing a vast empire worth thousands of crores through corruption, asserting that all evidence is documented. He noted that the courts will determine whether Khan will remain in jail or be granted bail, and affirmed the government’s commitment to tackling corruption without bias.

In Mumbai, Shiv Sena spokesperson Anand Dubey also criticized Khan’s complaints. He insisted that investigative agencies must ensure that public funds are not misused. Dubey questioned why Khan is upset if he believes he is innocent, suggesting he should present his case in court. He remarked, “If the ED wants to question you in jail, you should be prepared for that. You can’t complain about being caught after just getting out.”

Dubey further pointed out the irony of Khan, who once had police protection for his livestock, now being fearful of the ED. He warned that those who engage in wrongdoing must face the consequences of their actions, saying, “What you sow, you shall reap.” He concluded by stating that law enforcement is simply doing its job, and Khan’s current distress is a result of his past actions.
