Nottingham, 20 August (Kiran News). In Tuesday’s match of The Hundred tournament held in Nottingham, Trent Rockets, led by captain David Willey, defeated Manchester Originals by seven wickets. Willey produced a brilliant bowling performance, taking three wickets for just 11 runs and restricted Originals to only 98 runs in 100 balls. Rockets chased the target easily with 26 balls to spare and moved up to second place in the points table.

Willey’s Impact and Manchester’s Collapse
From the very start, David Willey broke the back of Manchester Originals’ batting. In the first set, he trapped young batter Ben McKinney LBW, had in-form Jos Buttler caught, and dismissed Rachin Ravindra for a golden duck on the next ball.
In the middle overs, Rockets’ bowlers kept the pressure on. Rehan Ahmed forced big shots from Heinrich Klaasen and Phil Salt and took both wickets. Sam Cook dismissed Matthew Hurst and Scott Currie.
For Originals, only Lewis Gregory stood firm, smashing 26 runs in the last 10 balls to somehow take the team to 98.
Rehan Ahmed’s Unbeaten Knock
Chasing 98 was not considered an easy task, but Rockets made it one-sided. Though Joe Root (4) and Tom Banton (12) were dismissed early, Rehan Ahmed played brilliantly, scoring an unbeaten 45. He confidently attacked spinners Ravindra and Noor Ahmad, hitting boundaries regularly.
Wicketkeeper Tom Moores supported Rehan well, scoring a quick 22 off 13 balls to seal the win.
