TFCC president Narayan Das passes away in Hyderabad

Hyderabad, April 19 : Noted exhibitor and Telugu Film Chamber of Commerce (TFCC) President Narayan Das K Narang passed away at a private hospital here on Tuesday. He was 78 and is survived by his two sons and a daughter. His both sons – S l Narang and Bharath Narang were also film producers. Das has financed over 600 films and is the promoter of Asian Films. As Chairman of the Asian Group, he set up multiplexes in association with actors Mahesh Babu, Vijay Deverakonda and Allu Arjun – namely AMB Cinemas, AVD Cinemas and AAA Cinemas. He produced Telugu films such as 2021 romance drama Love story directed by Sekhar Kammula starring Naga Chaitanya and Sai Pallavi and Naga Shaurya’s Lakshya under the banner of Sree Venkateswara Cinemas LLP. His credits include Nagarjuna’s Ghost, Dhanush’s film with Sekhar Kammula, Siva Kartikeyan’s 20th film directed by KV Anudeep. The entire film fraternity including Chiranjeevi, Mahesh Babu and several others offered their condolences to the family members of Das. Taking to micro blogging platform twitter, Mahesh Babu said ‘Shocked and saddened by the demise of #NarayanDasNarang garu. A prolific figure in our film industry.. His absence will be deeply felt. A privilege to have known and worked with him.’ In a message, state Information and Public Relations Department Commissioner and Telangana State Film Development Corporation (TSFDC) Managing Director Aravind Kumar expressed his deep condolences on the demise of TFCC President.
