Tensions Rise Over CM Yogis Remarks on Ram Temple Amid Political Backlash

Political leaders react sharply to CM Yogi Adityanaths comments on the Ram Temple, highlighting divisions between parties.

New Delhi, September 28 (Daily Kiran) : Political tensions have escalated in New Delhi following remarks made by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath regarding the Ram Temple. His comments aimed at the Samajwadi Party (SP) and Congress have sparked strong reactions from various political leaders.

Sanjay Nishad, a minister in the Uttar Pradesh government, expressed his support for the Chief Minister. He emphasized the need for restraint in political discourse, urging that votes should be sought based on work rather than misleading narratives.

BJP leader Pratul Shahadev commented on the upcoming elections, stating that those who previously opposed the Ram narrative are now praising it. He recalled how, during the UPA government, some claimed that the existence of Ram Lalla was not substantiated. Shahadev accused these groups of hypocrisy, noting that their sudden interest in the Ram Temple coincides with the election season. He also mentioned that significant action has been taken in the Ram Temple donation scandal, with the Special Investigation Team filing charges promptly. He warned that the next battle will be between “Ram droids” and “Ram devotees.”

In contrast, Atul Pradhan, an SP legislator, defended the belief in God among socialists. He criticized the BJP for seeking votes in the name of God while engaging in corrupt practices. Pradhan accused BJP members of exploiting the name of Lord Ram to gain political power, claiming they have betrayed the very ideals they profess to uphold.

Congress leader Rakesh Sinha added to the criticism, alleging that the government has shielded those involved in the Ram Temple donation scandal. He claimed that instead of holding wrongdoers accountable, the authorities have turned them into government witnesses, further complicating the situation.

As the political landscape heats up, the discourse surrounding the Ram Temple continues to be a flashpoint for party rivalries in Uttar Pradesh.
