Rajasthan BJP Leader Criticizes Opposition Over Election Results and EVM Controversy

Rajasthan BJP President Madan Rathore defends EVMs and criticizes the opposition during a media briefing on local elections and upcoming polls.

Jaipur, September 28 (Daily Kiran) : Rajasthan BJP President Madan Rathore addressed the media on Monday, discussing recent local body election results, upcoming panchayat elections, and various issues including EWS, SIR, and a fire at a chemical factory in Jodhpur’s Basni area.

Speaking at the Circuit House, Rathore described the BJP’s victory in the local elections as a testament to public trust in the policies of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma. He sharply criticized the opposition for questioning the integrity of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) and election results. Rathore pointed out that these concerns only arise when the opposition loses, asserting that the Election Commission is an independent constitutional body that deserves respect for the people’s mandate.

On the topic of SIR, he emphasized that the right to determine the country’s governance should rest with its citizens. Rathore claimed that the SIR system is attempting to establish family links for voter registration, accusing the Congress party of enrolling outsiders as voters and calling for transparency in the process.

Regarding the Economically Weaker Sections (EWS), Rathore stated that the BJP government initiated relief measures for this group. He acknowledged existing shortcomings and pledged that the government would work to address them while also considering aid for needy individuals from the general category.

He framed the local body election results as a victory for both BJP workers and public trust. Looking ahead to the panchayat elections, Rathore expressed confidence in the party’s robust grassroots organization, stating that unity exists from booth-level workers to national leadership. He reiterated the BJP’s commitment to ensuring that rural residents receive facilities comparable to those in urban areas.

Rathore highlighted Prime Minister Modi’s efforts to enhance India’s global standing and improve the living standards of ordinary citizens through various initiatives. He cited the government’s adherence to the principles of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya’s integral humanism, aimed at empowering the most marginalized.

He also commended the Bhajan Lal Sharma government for its achievements in electricity, healthcare, and financial support for farmers, including an increase in the Minimum Support Price (MSP) and advancements in self-reliance in power production. Furthermore, he noted the administration’s focus on strengthening law and order and taking action against criminals.

Rathore mentioned that the party had released a manifesto aimed at strengthening local bodies during the elections. He committed to improving essential urban services such as drainage, roads, underpasses, overbridges, water management, waste disposal, and cleanliness. The BJP’s goal, he stated, is to transform a double-engine government into a triple-engine government to accelerate development.
