Telangana Minister inaugurates infrastructure projects in Hyderabad

Hyderabad, April 19 : Telangana M cipal Administration and Urban Development Minister K T Rama Rao on Tuesday inaugurated a series of infrastructure development projects and laid foundation stones worth Rs.495.75 crore. Besides inaugurating various developmental works in the old city including the six-lane Bahadurpura flyover and a musical and lighting fountain at Mir Alam Tank, Rao also laid foundation stones for various works including construction of a new police station building at Kalapathar, Murgi Chowk (re-construction), Mir Alam Mandi (re-construction), restoration and development of Sardar Mahal building (Charminar) and for sewerage works in karwan constituency . The Minister said that the Sardar Mahal would be developed into a cultural center and would also have a museum and hotel. He said that the government is studying the proposals for registration of notarized properties and soon a decision will be taken. At a cost of Rs 2.55 crore a multi media musical fountain has been installed at Mir alam tank along with a Secondary collection and Transport Point ( Rs 2 cr) and an STP worth Rs 125 crore, he said in order to ease traffic, the long due Bahadurpura flyover has also been inaugurated. The flyover is built at a cost of Rs 109 crore. The historic Murgi chowk, popularly known as Mahbub Chowk Market, will get a new lease of life with an additional floor enhancing its space and facilities, he said. The reconstruction of the market complex comprising meat and poultry shops will be done by the Quli Qutub Shah Urban Development Authority (QQSUDA) at a cost of Rs 35 crore, Owaisi said the historic Mir Alam Mandi will also get a facelift and will be restored at a cost of Rs 21 crore. Similarly, Sardar Mahal, a heritage structure constructed in 1900 will be restored along with additional architectural designs at a cost of Rs 30 crore. The Sardar Mahal will be developed and preserved as a cultural space with various activities including exhibitions and performances, the Hyderabad MP said. Participated in the foundation stone laying ceremony of a comprehensive project to improve sewer network in Karwan constitutency. The complete project will cost nearly Rs 280 crore and improve the lives of residents immensely, the AIMIM President added. KNR CS1755
