Patna, March 5: The political landscape in Bihar is heating up following Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s decision to move to the Rajya Sabha. In this context, Leader of the Opposition Tejashwi Yadav has accused the BJP of attempting to implement the Maharashtra model in Bihar. He claims that the BJP is preparing to oust Nitish from power and install its own Chief Minister.
Tejashwi Yadav, a leader of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and former Deputy Chief Minister, stated that the BJP tends to choose Chief Ministers who act as mere rubber stamps. “We have long asserted that the BJP has hijacked Nitish Kumar. Today, the truth is evident to all. The sentiments of the people of Bihar are against this decision. Everyone knew the BJP would act this way. This is their pattern with every ally they have had. The BJP is following the path laid out by the RSS,” he remarked.
He further criticized the BJP for undermining democracy by using the Election Commission as a tool to manipulate the electoral process. “The people of Bihar are watching. We sympathize with Nitish Kumar regarding what is happening to him. Everyone knows who these people are and what they are doing. This is a direct betrayal of the public,” he added. Tejashwi expressed that the BJP has pressured Nitish Kumar to the extent that he felt compelled to take the decision to join the Rajya Sabha. He believes the BJP does not want the Janata Dal (United) to remain a political entity.
Meanwhile, Rohini Acharya, daughter of RJD President Lalu Yadav, took to social media platform X to express her views. She stated, “Nitish Kumar, who repeatedly betrays his own, is solely responsible for being pushed into this situation and his current plight. What is happening to him today is well-deserved.”
She further commented that the BJP forced Nitish Kumar into a decision that was predetermined on January 28, 2024, when he publicly demonstrated his skill in political maneuvering by leaving the Grand Alliance. “Due to his inherent compulsion to cling to power, Nitish Kumar has become a puppet in the hands of the BJP, known for digging the political graves of its allies,” she concluded.
