Tamil Nadu Chief Minister to Distribute ₹100 Crore in Aid to 14,000 Beneficiaries
CM C. Joseph Vijay will distribute over ₹100 crore in aid to 14,000 beneficiaries during his Pudukkottai visit, focusing on welfare and development.

Pudukkottai, November 2 (Daily Kiran) : During a visit to Pudukkottai on November 2, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay will distribute over ₹100 crore in government welfare aid to 14,000 beneficiaries. This event will also see the inauguration of completed projects and the launch of new development initiatives.
The Chief Minister is set to inaugurate a multi-purpose indoor sports stadium, built at a cost of ₹8 crore. He will also hand over completed projects to the public and initiate new works. The main event will focus on distributing aid to beneficiaries of various government schemes.
The district administration has made extensive arrangements for the visit, deploying 4,000 police personnel for security. After the program, Chief Minister Vijay will return to Tiruchirappalli by road and then fly to Chennai. This visit comes at a time when by-elections are expected to be announced for five vacant assembly seats.
Vijay plans to tour the districts associated with these seats, highlighting the political significance of the Pudukkottai event alongside its welfare and development focus.
Following the recent Tamil Nadu assembly elections, Vijay’s party, the Tamilga Vetri Kazhagam (TVK), emerged as the largest party, leading a coalition government. Several AIADMK legislators representing the constituencies of Viralimlai, Karur, Ambasamudram, Perundurais, Madurantakam, and Dharapuram have resigned from the assembly to join TVK, resulting in six vacant seats.
Subsequent by-elections were held in Madurantakam and Dharapuram, both of which were won by TVK. The constituencies of Viralimlai, Karur, Ambasamudram, and Perundurais remain unfilled, along with the Tiruchirappalli East seat, which Vijay won but later vacated.
The upcoming Pudukkottai visit is particularly significant as it falls within the district of Viralimlai, where potential electoral contests are drawing attention. However, the primary focus of this official program will be on the distribution of welfare schemes and infrastructure development. Among the key facilities to be inaugurated are a new bus stand and the indoor stadium, both set to benefit the local community.
