Suvendu Adhikari Set to Become West Bengals Next Chief Minister Amid Celebrations

Kolkata, May 8: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is poised to form its first government in West Bengal, with Suvendu Adhikari elected as the Chief Minister. This announcement was made by Union Home Minister Amit Shah following a meeting of the BJP legislative party on Friday.

The news of Adhikari’s appointment has sparked celebrations among local residents at his residence. Many believe that the hard work of the BJP has finally paid off.

One local resident expressed joy, stating, “It’s great that Suvendu Dada is becoming the Chief Minister. He has worked very hard, and now he is reaping the rewards. We are very happy. My family is thrilled that he is becoming the Chief Minister.”

Seema Das shared her excitement, saying, “I am very happy. I wish him all the best. We expect this government to ensure women’s safety.”

Shivshankar Das added, “This is a moment of great joy. It is a victory for Sanatan. This win is a result of removing Mamata Banerjee’s misrule.”

Meanwhile, newly elected BJP MLA Dilip Ghosh stated, “This is a significant and joyous day. After 75 years, people have witnessed the lotus bloom.”

Swapan Majumdar, another newly elected MLA, noted that the BJP has received support from communities facing backwardness, as the party does not operate on the basis of caste discrimination.

Regarding the swearing-in ceremony for the new government, MLA Tarun Jyoti Tiwari quoted Atal Bihari Vajpayee, saying, “The darkness will fade, the sun will rise, and the lotus will bloom.” He expressed happiness that the era of “goonda raj” has ended and that the reign of tyranny is over. “On May 9, a nationalist party government will be formed, and we are excited,” he added.

Newly elected MLA Subrata Thakur remarked that the SC and ST communities have traditionally supported the BJP. The public desires development and progress under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership.

BJP MP Manoj Tiwari stated, “For the first time, the BJP is forming a government. It is certain that the work that was not done in the years after independence will now be completed by the BJP. What Congress could not achieve in 60-70 years, PM Modi has accomplished.”
