New Delhi, August 28: Lieutenant Governor of Delhi, Taranjit Singh Sandhu, and Chief Minister Rekha Gupta urged students to become future leaders and contribute to building a developed India during the closing ceremony of the ‘Prabodhan’ Induction Program 2026 at Indira Gandhi Delhi Technical University for Women (IGDTUW).
Sandhu praised IGDTUW’s efforts to create opportunities for women in technical education and emerging technologies. He emphasized that empowering women through technical education is crucial not only for their personal growth but also for enhancing women’s participation in national development and leadership.
Addressing the students, the Lieutenant Governor stated that they are not just preparing for future jobs but are also shaping the future of India. He highlighted that their generation has the opportunity to develop technologies that can bring transformative changes in healthcare, education, agriculture, manufacturing, governance, and daily life. Therefore, their responsibility extends beyond merely using technology; they must become creators and innovators to steer the country’s future in a new direction.
During the event, a state-of-the-art lecture hall complex at the university was inaugurated. Equipped with modern facilities, this complex represents a significant step towards providing students with a contemporary academic environment for learning, dialogue, and knowledge exchange.
Chief Minister Rekha Gupta encouraged students by stating that today’s daughters are taking leading roles in engineering, technology, science, space, and defense. She urged students not to limit themselves to using existing technologies but to become creators of artificial intelligence (AI) and new technologies, developing solutions for the future.
Gupta called on students to cultivate curiosity, courage, and character in their abilities, urging them to become job creators rather than mere job seekers.
