
Washington, February 28: This week, significant meetings took place between Indian diplomats and senior U.S. leaders in America. Discussions focused on trade, energy, and strategic cooperation.
In Bismarck, Prakash Gupta, the Consul General of India in Seattle, dined with North Dakota Governor Kelly Armstrong and First Lady Jeirsty Armstrong.
“Hosting Governor Kelly Armstrong and First Lady Jeirsty Armstrong for dinner in Bismarck was a pleasure,” stated India in Seattle on February 27. “We appreciate the Governor’s strong support in strengthening the bilateral relationship between India and North Dakota in trade, culture, and people-to-people connections.”
Governor Armstrong described the meeting positively. “I had a great meeting today with Prakash Gupta, the Consul General of India in Seattle, during my visit to Bismarck. In Houston, Consul General D.C. Manjunath visited Honeywell’s facility on February 24. He met with company officials and representatives from the U.S.-India Strategic Partnership Forum.
The discussions covered the global energy landscape, emerging technologies, market changes, and Honeywell’s growth trajectory. The embassy expressed enthusiasm that India is Honeywell’s largest center outside the U.S., reflecting a strong and longstanding collaboration between the two countries.
The talks also highlighted Tata Honeywell’s legacy and the development of Honeywell India. Both sides discussed enhancing cooperation in future energy transitions, environmental protection, and advanced industrial automation.
The visit concluded with a tour of Honeywell’s Experience Center, showcasing “cutting-edge solutions shaping the future of the industry.” The embassy noted that collaboration in innovation, technology, and energy between India and the U.S. will continue.
Additionally, Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asia Paul Kapoor spoke at Princeton University’s 2026 Global India Conference. He shared insights on U.S. national security and partnerships with India, emphasizing that the U.S. and India are working together to create a secure and prosperous Indo-Pacific region that benefits both nations.
Kapoor also visited Holtec’s technology and manufacturing hub in Camden, New Jersey, where he met with CEO Kris Singh. They discussed Holtec’s investment plans related to nuclear energy and partnerships with Indian companies, which could aid in job creation, economic development, and energy security.
In recent years, cooperation between India and the U.S. has steadily increased. Trade, energy, and advanced technology have become the cornerstones of their relationship. Bilateral trade has surpassed $190 billion. Furthermore, both countries are collaborating in the Indo-Pacific region and through platforms like the Quad.
