Special Squad to tackle Naxals in MP

Bhopal, Mar 24 : Even as counter-insurgency operations continue relentlessly in neighbouring Chhattisgarh, the Madhya Pradesh Government is constituting a special squad for combatting the scourge of Left-wing extremism. “A comm ty policing-related appointment proposal is being forwarded to the Cabinet by my department. Eighty personnel are to be appointed in Balaghat, 30 in Mandla and 40 in Dindori (all three are border districts in eastern Madhya Pradesh) for half a decade at a remuneration of Rs 25,000 each. This is a major and serious issue,” state Home Minister and government spokesman Narottam Mishra told journalists here. AC
