
Indore, May 14: Good news for pilgrims from Madhya Pradesh. The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) has launched a special religious tourism package for visiting the famous Pashupatinath Temple in Nepal. This ‘Pashupatinath Nepal Darshan Yatra’ will depart from Indore on June 12, operated by the ‘Bharat Gaurav Deluxe AC Train.’
The journey spans 9 nights and 10 days, covering stations including Indore, Ujjain, Shujalpur, Sehore, Rani Kamalapati, Itarsi, Narsinghpur, Jabalpur, Katni, and Satna. Pilgrims can join the tour from any of these stations. Besides visiting the Pashupatinath Temple, travelers will explore significant tourist attractions such as the Manokamana Temple, Chitwan National Park, Pokhara, and Kathmandu.
Rahul Holkar, Executive Tourism Officer at IRCTC, stated, “This journey will consist of 14 coaches, including First, Second, and Third AC coaches. There will also be two restaurants on board. The itinerary includes Pokhara, Chitwan, Kathmandu, and the Manokamana Temple, along with facilities for a ropeway and jeep safari. Full insurance coverage for passengers is included. The train will travel from Indore to Raxaul, after which the journey will continue by road.”
Manoj Kumar provided further details, saying, “This is an approximately 12-day trip, with accommodations in 3-star hotels for five nights. The package covers lodging, meals, local sightseeing by AC bus, tour escort services, and housekeeping. Only a few personal expenses will require separate payment.”
Three pricing categories have been established for the journey: ₹62,710 per person for Third AC Comfort, ₹76,550 for Second AC Deluxe, and ₹90,400 for First AC Superior. So far, around 50 seats have been booked out of a total capacity of 150.
This IRCTC package is considered a significant step towards promoting religious tourism, particularly for devotees from Madhya Pradesh. It offers a convenient and comfortable option, as the entire journey, including train travel, hotel accommodations, meals, and local tours, is available in a single package.
