Special Court Accepts Lokayukta’s B Report in MUDA Scam, Clears Siddaramaiah and Family

Bengaluru’s special court has accepted the Lokayukta police’s ‘B Report’ in the MUDA scam case, providing relief to Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, his wife Parvati BM, Mallikarjun Swamy, and Devaraju by giving them a clean chit.

The MUDA (Mysuru Urban Development Authority) case involved allegations that Parvati was allotted 14 prime plots under the 50:50 scheme in Vijayanagar in exchange for 3 acres and 16 gunthas of land in Kesare village, Mysuru. The plots were reportedly worth crores, and it was alleged that this caused financial loss to the state and violated rules.

Following a thorough investigation by the Lokayukta police, no concrete evidence was found against the accused. Citing lack of evidence, the police submitted a ‘B Report’ or closure report stating that the allegations could not be proven. The special court approved this report, offering significant relief to Siddaramaiah and his family.

Meanwhile, the court allowed further investigation against other accused individuals, including MUDA officials. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has also been permitted to continue its separate probe focusing on money laundering aspects.

The case came into public focus in 2024 after RTI activist Snehamayi Krishna filed a complaint, leading the Lokayukta to register a First Information Report and begin investigations. Parvati later returned the 14 plots to MUDA amid growing controversy.

The opposition had turned this matter into a political issue, but the Lokayukta’s report and the court’s decision have provided relief to Siddaramaiah. The ongoing ED investigation will clarify the situation further once completed.
