South Korean President Lee Jae-myung Concludes Successful Visit to India, Heads to Vietnam

New Delhi, April 21: South Korean President Lee Jae-myung wrapped up his three-day official visit to India on Tuesday and has now departed for Vietnam.

According to the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal, President Lee’s visit yielded significant outcomes in key areas, strengthening the bilateral partnership with a forward-looking agenda.

Jaiswal shared on the social media platform ‘X’, “This was a successful visit. President Lee Jae-myung has left India. He was bid farewell by the Minister of Road, Transport and Highways and Minister of Corporate Affairs Harsh Malhotra. The visit produced concrete results in major sectors and provided a stronger foundation for the India-South Korea partnership.”

On Wednesday, President Lee is set to meet with Vietnamese President To Lam in Hanoi. The two leaders had previously met in August when To Lam visited South Korea.

On Thursday, Lee will also meet with Vietnamese Prime Minister Le Minh Khai and Chairman of the National Assembly Tran Thanh Man. Additionally, he will participate in a business forum to discuss ways to enhance economic cooperation between the two nations. He is expected to return to South Korea on Friday.

Earlier, President Lee expressed that India and South Korea would move forward as “strong partners” and work together to shape each other’s future.

He also mentioned being inspired by Indian President Droupadi Murmu’s life, noting her efforts in overcoming various social and personal challenges to serve society, especially marginalized communities.

Lee stated on the social media platform ‘X’, “I attended a banquet hosted by President Droupadi Murmu. I was greatly impressed by her life. The confidence that India shows today comes from her courage and vision.”

He further added, “The potential between India and South Korea is immense. We will now move beyond politics and economics towards a robust partnership. I sincerely thank the people of India and President Murmu for their warm welcome.”
