Surat, August 20: Shambhavi Shukla, the National Secretary of the Indian Youth Congress, stated that only the Gandhi family can refuse the position of Prime Minister. She accused the BJP of misleading the public regarding the Vande Mataram controversy.
Speaking to reporters, Shukla said, “Only the Gandhi family can decline the Prime Minister’s position. The Gandhi family has shown sacrifice. It takes a big heart to refuse such a significant role.”
Regarding the Vande Mataram issue, she remarked, “Sonia Gandhi has never attempted to stop Vande Mataram. She was merely concerned about Mallikarjun Kharge’s health. The BJP’s role is to repeatedly lie and mislead the public. They create such controversies to divert attention from real issues.”
Commenting on the arrest of six individuals, including former Delhi Water Minister Satyendar Jain, by the ACB, she stated, “India is a democratic country where the Constitution is paramount. We stand by whatever decision the court makes.” She emphasized that the law is equal for everyone and that Congress respects the law.
On the student protests regarding the JPSC in Jharkhand, Shukla said, “Rahul Gandhi and the entire Congress, along with the Youth Congress, are very serious about youth issues. There were indeed protests in Jharkhand, but the entire Youth Congress team was in continuous dialogue with them. Rahul Gandhi wrote a letter to the Chief Minister, which prompted the government to take action. The Congress party stands with the youth, is standing with them, and will continue to do so.”
Shukla claimed, “During the ‘Goonj’ program, Rahul Gandhi received immense love from the youth. Despite the BJP inviting a singer to Dehradun, more young people attended Rahul Gandhi’s program than the BJP’s event. This is the biggest example that today’s youth, women, and all patriots are with Rahul Gandhi.”
