Snehalata Discusses Transformation in Horror-Supernatural Thriller Vashikaran

Mumbai, March 13: Actress Snehalata Vasekar is set to appear in the upcoming series ‘Vashikaran’. She describes this horror-supernatural thriller as a break from long-standing conservative portrayals of women in television.

In a recent exclusive interview, Snehalata shared her thoughts on how the series challenges traditional norms that have persisted in the industry for years. “In Hindi television, female characters are often depicted in a conservative manner, but ‘Vashikaran’ aims to bring about change. If you’ve seen the promo, you’ll notice that the story centers around a woman. The character experiences pain but chooses her own path to recovery. In this sense, she presents a unique and stronger perspective that deviates from typical stereotypes. Change is necessary, and I believe this show strives to bring that change,” she stated.

In the series, she plays the role of Suman, a powerful, complex character with many layers. Snehalata expressed her excitement about portraying this multifaceted role, noting that it offers various aspects that make it thrilling to understand and enact. “This character excites me the most because it is multidimensional. Exploring different emotions and facets has been a lot of fun,” she added.

Regarding the challenges of her role, she mentioned, “Sometimes, when I portray happiness or laughter on screen, I also have to convey the hidden sorrow within the character. Maintaining this emotional balance can be complex. However, with our director’s excellent guidance and a strong screenplay, I am gradually understanding the layers of my character and trying to portray it honestly.”

Snehalata also emphasized the difficulty of controlling emotions in a horror-supernatural thriller. “For an actor, it’s crucial to manage emotions in every scene. When you understand your emotional transitions well and maintain control, it becomes easier to depict various feelings effectively,” she explained.

She aims to explore the shifts in emotions through this role, making the character more engaging for the audience.
