Mumbai: Actress Shweta Tripathi recently wrapped up the Mumbai schedule of the much-awaited film ‘Mirzapur: The Movie’. In an exclusive interview, she expressed how the film holds a special place in her heart. She revealed that her character, Golu Gupta, not only gave her recognition but also instilled inner strength and courage.
Golu Gupta: A Turning Point in Shweta’s Career
For Shweta, the role of Golu Gupta marked a significant milestone in her acting journey. It changed the way audiences perceive her and opened doors to more meaningful stories. ‘Mirzapur’ is a popular web series set in the Purvanchal region of Uttar Pradesh, centred around the character of Adragadanand ‘Kaleen’ Tripathi, a local don and businessman. The first season gained immense popularity and introduced many new actors, including Pankaj Tripathi, Ali Fazal, Divyendu Sharma, Vikrant Massey, Shweta Tripathi, Shriya Pilgaonkar, Rasika Dugal, Harshita Gaur, and Kulbhushan Kharbanda.
The second season retained most of its main cast, with some new additions such as Vijay Varma, Isha Talwar, Lilliput, Anjum Sharma, Priyanshu Panuly, Anangsha Biswas, and Neha Sargam. This season was also well-received by audiences.
