On Tuesday, he was riding back home on a motorcycle with his sister Alka when the attack took place.
As they approached the canal near Hathoda village in the Pachdevra area, the accused son-in-law, Manmohan, also known as Mannu, intercepted them. Police sources revealed that there had been ongoing disputes and tension between the father-in-law and son-in-law.
During the altercation, Manmohan allegedly attacked Ashok Babu with a hockey stick. The blow left Ashok Babu severely injured. He was rushed to Lohia Hospital in Farrukhabad, where doctors pronounced him dead.
Meanwhile, Alka, the victim’s sister, also sustained injuries. She received medical assistance, and her statement is being recorded as part of the investigation. Upon receiving information about the incident, the Pachdevra police arrived at the scene and initiated an inquiry. A forensic team also examined the crime scene. Based on a written complaint from the victim’s family, a case has been registered.
Police Inspector Alok Raj Narayan from Shahabad stated that a special team has been formed to apprehend the murderer. He mentioned that the investigation is ongoing, and efforts are underway to arrest the accused soon.
The accused son-in-law is currently at large, and police are conducting raids at potential hideouts. Authorities indicated that legal action will follow once the suspect is apprehended, and the motive behind the murder will be thoroughly investigated.
Notably, this incident follows another disturbing murder case reported on February 5 in Mau district, Uttar Pradesh, where a married woman and her lover were accused of conspiring to brutally kill the woman’s father-in-law, who allegedly pressured her to end an illicit relationship.
