Shocking Discovery: Trainee Found Dead at Mumbai Police Training Center

Mumbai, March 18: A shocking incident unfolded at the Kalina Police Training Center in Mumbai’s Santacruz area, where the body of a 32-year-old police trainee was discovered. The deceased has been identified as Bhaiyasaheb Maruti Whavle, who had recently joined the force as a police driver and was undergoing training.

According to police officials, Whavle was originally from Khadgaon in the Parbhani district. His body was found in his room within the police quarters. A purported suicide note was also recovered from his pocket. The Vakola police station, which is investigating the case, has registered a complaint against the parents of Whavle’s girlfriend for allegedly inciting suicide, based on the note and statements from the deceased’s family.

The suicide note reportedly revealed that Whavle had been in a relationship with a young woman from a neighboring district for the past year and a half, and they both wished to marry. However, her parents opposed the relationship. The note indicated that they had been pressuring him to end the relationship and had threatened serious consequences if he did not comply. Whavle also claimed that his family members received threats, leading him to experience severe mental distress.

On the day of the incident, Whavle reportedly received threatening phone calls. The police have sent the suicide note for handwriting verification and forensic analysis. They are also analyzing call data records (CDR) and taking statements from all relevant individuals.

As of now, no arrests have been made in this case. The police stated that the investigation is ongoing, and all aspects will be considered for further action.
