Shocking Allegations in Muzaffarnagar: Wife Accused of Husbands Murder

Muzaffarnagar, June 9: In a disturbing incident from Muzaffarnagar, Uttar Pradesh, a wife has been accused of murdering her husband. The family claims that the daughter-in-law poisoned their son, leading to his sudden death. This tragic event has sent shockwaves through the community, with the grieving mother-in-law and sister-in-law expressing their anguish. The police have detained the accused wife for questioning.

The incident took place in the Brahmapuri neighborhood of Muzaffarnagar. Monu, a 32-year-old man, reportedly fell ill and died shortly after having dinner. His family alleges that his wife, Pooja, poisoned his food.

According to relatives, Monu and Pooja were married in 2018. However, disputes arose soon after their marriage. Pooja had previously filed a case of dowry harassment against Monu’s family, resulting in several family members being jailed. For the past five years, Pooja had been living with her parents but returned to live with Monu just three months ago.

Reports indicate that a dispute occurred between the couple before the incident, with Pooja’s father present at the scene. After dinner, Monu’s health deteriorated rapidly. His family rushed him to the district hospital, where he was later referred to a facility in Meerut, where he was pronounced dead.

Monu’s mother, Sukarma, accused Pooja of threatening the family after her son’s death, warning them of severe consequences if they took action. She stated, “My daughter-in-law killed my son. The police are assisting her.” Sukarma further claimed that Pooja had difficulty living with her in-laws, which led to her decision to stay with Monu in a rented house. She pleaded with the authorities for justice, stating, “We need justice.”

Monu’s brother, Abhishek, shared that there had been ongoing tensions with Pooja. He mentioned that she had previously threatened to implicate the family in false cases. “We had no idea she would go so far as to poison my brother,” he said.

Meanwhile, the police have begun their investigation, and the body has been sent for an autopsy. Senior Superintendent of Police Sanjay Kumar Verma stated that they are awaiting the post-mortem report to determine the exact cause of death.
