Mumbai, March 31: Actor Saqib Saleem is excited about his upcoming web series, ‘Captain.’ In this series, he portrays a police officer. He revealed that his character, SSP Samardeep, often believes in breaking the rules to get the job done.
‘Captain’ is a gripping crime thriller set against the tense backdrop of Jwalabad. The story revolves around organized crime, a vast network of counterfeit goods, gangs, and escalating local conflicts. The series highlights the growing impact of crime.
Discussing his character, Saqib said, “’Captain’ has given me the opportunity to understand a deeply emotional and complex world. Playing SSP Samardeep was challenging because he is a police officer who does not always follow the rules. He struggles with the burdens of his past while trying to manage his present. This role has been profound and satisfying for me.”
Alongside Saqib Saleem, the series features Siddharth Nigam, Kavita Kaushik, Varun Badola, Anjum Sharma, Arif Zakaria, Pooja Gaur, Vikram Kochhar, and Anushka Kaushik in significant roles.
Siddharth Nigam shared insights about his character Kabir, stating, “Kabir enters the story with full enthusiasm. He is filled with anger and is broken inside, yet he is completely dedicated to his purpose. As his journey progresses, it becomes increasingly personal.”
Kavita Kaushik added, “I have played a police officer before, but I am bringing a new perspective and energy to ‘Captain.’ This has been a thrilling experience for me.”
Directed by Jatin Wagle and produced under the banner of Pammie Baweja and Harman Baweja’s Baweja Studios, the series is set to premiere on Amazon MX Player on April 3. The trailer has already been released, offering viewers a glimpse of an exciting crime story.
