New Delhi, March 8: Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut recently met with former Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar. Raut shared the news on social media, posting photos from their meeting.
On the platform X, Raut expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to meet Dhankhar, stating, “I had the privilege of meeting former Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar today. I enjoyed a wonderful conversation. It was truly a delightful and heartfelt meeting.”
Dhankhar had resigned from his vice-presidential role due to health issues. Since then, he has made very few public appearances, attending only a select number of events.
After resigning in July 2025, Dhankhar was seen in public for the first time on November 21, 2025, at a book launch event in Bhopal.
During that event, he unveiled the book “Hum Aur Yeh Vishv,” written by senior RSS official Dr. Manmohan Vaidya. Dhankhar cited medical advice following a heart-related issue as the reason for his resignation on July 21. Since then, he has not participated in any public events.
The opposition raised significant concerns regarding Dhankhar’s resignation, alleging various motives behind it.
Dhankhar served as India’s 14th Vice President starting in August 2022. He submitted his resignation letter to the President on July 21, 2025, coinciding with the first day of the monsoon session.
Opposition members questioned the timing of his resignation, noting that he had been active throughout the day and participated in all scheduled events before suddenly resigning in the evening. They suggested that this health-related explanation might not be the full story.
