Sanjay Raut Criticizes BJP Over Rajya Sabha Elections and Allegations of Cross Voting

New Delhi, March 18: Political tensions continue to rise in Bihar following allegations of cross voting during the Rajya Sabha elections. The opposition is persistently accusing the BJP of attempting to poach legislators. Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut held a press conference where he claimed that the BJP is trying to win elections through financial means.

Regarding the cross voting in the Rajya Sabha elections, Raut stated, “The BJP has orchestrated cross voting using money and power, whether in Haryana, Bihar, or Odisha. In Odisha, they supported a candidate who is accused in a coal scam, has an FIR against him, and has been sentenced to three years in prison.”

He emphasized that cross voting is not new for the BJP. He criticized the party, which claims to be principled, for resorting to buying legislators and manipulating elections through financial means. Raut remarked that while the BJP may find this amusing, it is the people of the country who are suffering.

“The opposition stands united, whether in Odisha, Haryana, or Bihar, yet legislators are bought with power and money. This is a grave injustice that the nation has witnessed once again,” he added.

Raut pointed out that the public is growing increasingly frustrated as their issues remain unheard. He accused BJP leaders of merely filling their own pockets while the burden falls on the citizens. The rising inflation in the country is well-known, yet the government seems indifferent to it.

He also mentioned that the BJP has forgotten the promises made to the public, and the people are ready to respond in the upcoming times.

In response to Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge’s letter regarding women’s reservation, Raut stated, “It is commendable that the opposition leader in the Rajya Sabha, Mallikarjun Kharge, has written to Kiren Rijiju about women’s reservation. There is no reason to doubt this initiative.”
