Volunteers from RSS and Seva Bharati are providing essential aid to families affected by flooding in Lucknows Faizullaganj area.

Lucknow, October 17 (Daily Kiran) : Volunteers from the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and Seva Bharati are actively assisting families impacted by rising waters of the Gomti River in the Faizullaganj area of Lucknow. For the past six days, these dedicated workers have been conducting a relief campaign to support those affected by the flooding.
Due to waterlogging, access to several localities has become challenging. To address this, aid is being delivered via boats, providing food, drinking water, and essential supplies to those in need. Reports indicate that thousands of families have received assistance so far. Over the last six days, approximately 10,000 food packets and 30,000 bottles of water have been distributed. The volunteers are distributing meals and drinking water twice daily, along with snacks, biscuits, and other necessities to alleviate the hardships faced by families during this crisis.
About 65 volunteers are engaged daily in two shifts, navigating through flooded areas to reach families in need. The initiative aims to ensure that essential items such as food and water are delivered to those affected. Relief materials are being distributed in areas including Daud Nagar, Mama Colony, and Yadav Chauraha, among others.
According to reports, volunteers have reached about 80 percent of the affected areas. Approximately 40,000 families have been reported as impacted by the flooding, with around 25,000 families having reportedly evacuated. Efforts are ongoing to provide consistent relief to the remaining 15,000 families.
Anil, the regional organizer for RSS in Eastern Uttar Pradesh, recently assessed the relief operations. He was accompanied by key officials, including the provincial service chief Devendra and Seva Bharati treasurer Manshabaksh Singh. They interacted with volunteers and observed the distribution of aid materials to affected families.
The commitment of RSS and Seva Bharati workers remains strong as they continue their relief efforts in the flood-affected localities, striving to provide food, drinking water, and other essential supplies to families facing difficulties during this challenging time.
