New Delhi, April 8: Congress leader Rashid Alvi commended Pakistan for its role in facilitating a ceasefire agreement between the United States and Iran. He stated that the actions taken by Pakistan were what the Indian government should have accomplished.
In a discussion in New Delhi, Alvi emphasized that the world was closely watching the conflict and desired an end to hostilities. He noted that the ceasefire was achieved through the efforts of Pakistan, Turkey, and Saudi Arabia. Alvi criticized the Indian government’s foreign policy, claiming it has failed significantly.
He asserted that the credit for the ceasefire should go to Pakistan, rather than India. Alvi praised Iran, stating that in the conflict, Iran emerged victorious while the United States faced defeat. He remarked that the powerful nation learned a lesson from Iran, and the ten points of negotiation indicated that the US had conceded.
Alvi urged the US to ensure that no further conflicts arise and that Iran maintains control over the Strait of Hormuz. He questioned what benefits the ceasefire held for the United States. Saluting Iran’s Supreme Leader, he acknowledged Iran’s commitment and its ability to challenge the US and Israel.
He further stated that Israel cannot take any action without the consent of the United States. This ceasefire not only involved the US but also Israel. Alvi warned that if Israel were to act recklessly, Iran would be prepared to respond.
Alvi mentioned that Pakistan had indicated its willingness to fight alongside Saudi Arabia if necessary. He described this as a failure of India’s diplomacy and noted that relations with Gulf countries would not remain the same. Gulf nations are aware that the Indian government did not take a timely stand.
