Jaipur, July 20: Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma emphasized that completing development projects on time and delivering benefits to the public is one of the state government’s top priorities.
He stressed that negligence or delays in these responsibilities will not be tolerated. Officials were directed to stop making excuses for shortcomings. Instead, they should expedite development works while adhering to a strict ‘zero tolerance’ policy.
These directives were issued during the seventh Raj Unnati review meeting held at the Chief Minister’s office on Monday.
The Chief Minister reviewed approximately ₹15,890 crores worth of development projects across seven departments, including the Shyama Prasad Mukherjee District Upliftment Scheme, the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana for rural areas, the Panch Gaurav Scheme, and the implementation of rural and urban service camps.
He also assessed compliance with directives issued in previous Raj Unnati meetings.
While reviewing the Jaipur Ring Road (North) project, the Chief Minister instructed officials to resolve pending issues by coordinating with the Forest Department and Railways, and to commence work without delay. He noted that this project will play a crucial role in reducing traffic congestion in Jaipur. The Detailed Project Report (DPR) has been finalized and submitted to the central cabinet for approval.
The proposed Northern Ring Road, with an estimated cost of over ₹11,700 crores, will start from Bagru on the Ajmer Highway (NH-48) and extend through Jaipur-Delhi NH-48 and Jaipur-Sikar NH-52 to the Jaipur-Bandikui spur.
During the review of the Panch Gaurav program, the Chief Minister instructed the Chief Secretary to develop an effective expansion plan and ensure regular monitoring of its implementation.
He stated that local products are the foundation of economic prosperity in each district, and promoting them through this scheme will strengthen local economies.
Districts that spent less than the allocated funds under the scheme last year were directed to accelerate implementation immediately.
He also called for concrete measures to ensure the overall development, promotion, and preservation of the five identified components of Panch Gaurav in each district: produce, products, plant species, tourist spots, and sports. Underperforming districts were instructed to achieve 100% of their targets as soon as possible.
